Didn't it say she is a volunteer?

Watts, while not a staffer with either organization, is a full-time volunteer who lives in Colorado.
Boy, I say boy, you're reaching the limits of my medication!

For starters she, like nearly all other American citizens, will be responsible for her own personal security. That is how it ought to be. I am not sure she can cope with it.

Her having an armed security team with assault weapons (you know, a gun that fire more than 10 rounds a minute) is a shining example of leftist/elitist hypocrisy.

Haven't yet stumbled upon "Moms Demand Action" IRS Form 990, but I did print out the 2015 tax return for "Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund Inc."

I used this website: https://www.guidestar.org/search. There's a bunch of click-throughs to get to the heart of the matter and you may have to sign up (free) with your email and password. I apparently did that years ago so I had no issues.

Here's the pdf for their 2015 Form 990 (Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax): OOOPS! I guess I can't upload it because the file is 1.94 MEGS...

Reading a tax return for some can be like reading an instruction manual on how to disassemble your old Ruger MK III. For me, it's like reading a 56 page after-action report on something that occurred from 1/1/2015 - 12/31/2015. Except I don't need popcorn and a beer to enjoy it.

Weird, I know....but just to let you know I'm solidly in your camp, I still haven't read the old Ruger MK III instruction manual - I figure that some day, one of you guys will be nice enough to show me how to take mine apart and reassemble it...

In 2015, they had $39,456,794 in income (contributions). They also had total ending assets of $5,317,574, which means the money they received went somewhere in support of the organization's mandate.

The primary activity of Everytown For Gun Safety Acton Fund Inc. is "educating policymakers" (people who are either in office at some level and want voter support or people who are running for office and want voter support).

In 2015, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund made contributions to candidates and political committees related to promoting the election of candidates who support the enactment of common-sense public safety measures to keep our communities safer from gun violence.

They apparently had 184 employees in 2015 and claim to have had 1,829,422 "volunteers" for the same year.

There are three individuals with "heavy duty" titles that are apparently paid nothing:

    Richard Descherer, Chairman and Director

    Diane Gubelli, Secretary and Treasurer

    John Feinblatt, President

The six highest paid folks received the following compensation and non-taxable benefits in 2015:

Megan Lewis, Executive Vice President: $354,136

Brina Milikowsky, Chief Strategic Initiative: $263,229

Erika Soto Lamb, Chief of Communications: $250,210

    Matthew Burgess, Political Director: $221,858

    John McCarthy, Special Advisor: $239,992

Samantha Rodgers, Chief of Organizing: $214,573

Their five highest paid "independent contractors" include:

Chong + Koster LLC (Washington DC, Advertising, $3,144,902)

SKDnickerbocker LLC (Washington, DC, Advertising & Production, $2,622,222)

Geller & Company LLC (NYC, Consulting, $2,422,106)

    Venable LLP (Baltimore, Legal, $1,536,234)

Winning Connections Inc (Washington, DC, Patch Through Calls, $934,875)

The grants and other assistance they provided to other organizations, governments, and individuals include the following:

$25,000: American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention, Inc. (NY)
    $10,000: Ceasefire PA (PHL)
    $5,000 : Ceasefire PA (PHL)
$10,000: Center for American Progress Action Fund (Washington, DC)
$1,000 : Maine Gun Safety Coalition (Portland, ME)
$5,000 : National Network to End Domestic Violence (Washington, DC)
$40,000: National Network to End Domestic Violence (Washington, DC)
    $1,480 : Nevada Woman's Lobby (Reno, NV)
$15,000: Ohio Domestic Violence Network (Columbus, OH)
    $25,000: Our Oregon (Portland, OR)
$7,500 : Progress Missouri (Jefferson City, MO)
$360 : Progressive Nevada Action (Henderson, NV)
$1,500 : Progressive Nevada Action (Henderson, NV)
$10,000: Progressive New Mexico (Albuquerque, NM)
    $4,000 : Sojourners (Washington, DC)
$10,000: South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (Columbia, SC)
$28,500: Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (Seattle, WA)
$535,000: Nevada for Background Checks (Carson City, NV)
$755,000: Mainers for Responsible Gun Ownership Fund (Ellsworth, ME)
$375,000: Oregon Democracy Fund (Portland, OR)

This is just the beginning of the rabbit hole and if you had nothing else going on there, you could really have some time sucked out of your life by doing more forensic work. But I thought I'd let you know that this is most certainly a well-funded organization that appears intent on taking away whatever gun rights you may think you have left.

They've been fighting since 2007 (their year of formation) to do exactly THAT.

Not picking a fight here, but have you gotten off your ass to do anything to prevent that?

Oh, I just finished with a rest stop at the "Moms Demand Action" (aka MDA) website. It appears Shannon Watts may be a fundraiser (or the public image for a fundraiser paid/employed) by/for "Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, Inc." (aka EGSAF). Although there is a click through tab for making a donation, the donation appears to be "credited" to:

"Paid for by Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund. Please note that contributions to the Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund are not tax-deductible. If you are interested in other ways to give, including making a tax-deductible gift, please click here or call 646-324-8250. Additional Financial and Regulatory Information"

"EGSAF" paid $591,915 in fundraising fees in 2015. I don't know if Shannon Watts worked as one of the "outsourced" fund raisers for them in 2015, or started in 2016, 2017, etc. But as a fundraiser, I wouldn't be surprised if she receives 5-10% of the donations (or some other amount) that may have flowed through the website attributed to "MDA".

I may have missed it, but I don't see any way to donate to MDA on Shannon's website for the donations appear to go directly to EGSAF, who I would also guess, may have paid for MDA's website development costs and maintenance.

Just sayin there are a lot of layers to this onion....

they should probably all go to the range, in the beautiful spring weather, it's extremely relaxing to be with your thoughts, outdoors, focusing on hitting a small X.
    might fix their anger issues...
i'm only in a good mood a few times, after being at the range, after a good night's sleep or after ensuring the wife doesn't get a good night's sleep.

bamboo is all like CSI-IRS. good work.
There is no way to make it out alive...
