That is actually a legitimate self defense scenario. Unlike mine and others that involved some dope to stupid to realize he was putting himself in harms way.
Who knows how an addict could have reacted to any whim. I'm glad that it worked out ok and the situation diffused itself.

If I'm being honest and it were me with a gun the second that door became forced by the perp it would have been all over. He would have one second to back off before I had to take control of the situation.

It's amazing just how often these scenarios can arise and end peacefully, but that one was to close for me.

Looking back, I can't believe how nuts this guy was; at the time I was just very confused, then angry. I'm glad it turned out the way it did, but it was an important lesson to me, as next time, it may not end as well.
