    Default Handgun transfer

I'm sure this has been asked before but, couldn't find the answer.

I am selling one of my handguns to my Brother-in-law, do I need to do a transfer through an FFL? I'm thinking I do but, just want to be sure.

    Yes you do....

Or... Give it to one of your parents. They gift it to your sister. Your sister gifts it to her husband. But... Best do it the safe way and hit the FFL.

He's my Wife's Brother. I'm sure there are was around it but, I'll just do the FFL and make him pay for it.

That is the safest and most legal way to do the transfer.

Also, if anyone ever questions a transfer, the person that is selling the gun (transferrer) is the one responsible to make sure everything is legal, not the one receiving the gun.
