Re: OAKS 2 Day Gunshow AUG 4th and 5th 2018
The only cases of MRE's I saw were 40 bucks with a 2017 test date. Asked about 2020...nothing.
Parking wasn't bad at all. I got there a little after 11:30 and found a spot for my truck in the vendor parking lot. By the time I left there were open spots all around.
It was crowded, but not overly. Mortons didn't have any rifle sleeves, but Precision Arms did. Thanks.
NE Reloading was at the show. Not sure if you guys know this or not, But they buy all kinds of scrap metal. Copper, brass, old batteries...pays cash on the spot. Has scales too. Nick is more than fair and will take whatever you have.
There was a guy selling solvent trap adapters for the aluminum long neck beer cans...pretty funny.
Not a bad show...seemed friendlier than most.

Re: OAKS 2 Day Gunshow AUG 4th and 5th 2018
I went there today, got there at about 9:30. Parking was fine then, but pretty full by the time I left at about 12:30. I was looking for a S&W victory revolver in 38 Special. One vendor had several in a case, and I thought I'd found it. Then I looked up and saw who it was - Indian River Collectibles. For those who are not familiar with him, he has a fantastic inventory, but his prices (you have to ask him, they are not marked) are about 1.5X normal retail. I moved on. Saw a few things of interest, but was not in a buying mood, I guess.

1000 vendors, probably 3000 people selling, 5000 visitors and about 750 parking spots. And out of those you have assholes in their one ton trucks with a 25 foot trailer taking up 15 parking spots. The parking lot is really turning into a joke at that place. Next time I might as well park in front of Lowe's and walk over. If it wasn't a cheap way to spend a couple hours and get good jerky, I would definitely stop going.

Actually, the parking is better now, with the Cirque du Soleil in town than its ever been. The entire area which used to be unpaved, where the cirque is, is now all paved and marked parking spots. This last show was some of the easiest parking I have encountered at a show here.
I would be interested in having Eagle Arms put together a vendor list for the next show. Its not going to take much putting it together.

Got there about noon. Parked right out front now that they seem to be enforcing the handicapped parking. I swear there was more garbage than ever. Wish they would put the trinkets , jewelry and other non-gun garbage in one hall and gun stuff in the other. Scotsgard had lots of nice classic American guns at very fair prices. Walked thru twice and all I got were 2 USGI M1 carbine mags and a sore hip.
I don't speak English , I talk American!
