PAFOA/PMSC Group Shoot #1 (of 4) for 2018 - April 21, 2018 (Near Pgh)

I'm currently planning to be there, but since I'll be getting off at 7am, I'm going to crash at home for a bit. I'm certain I won't feel like staying the entire time.

It also looks like since I moved up to Beaver Falls area, Oakmont Bakery is actually on the way instead of out of the way..., so I should be on for maple bacon donuts.

This is all contingent on outage progression, but I currently intend on Saturdays being my day off during the outage.

Beaver Falls? Are you near Oram's? Maple bacon donuts are fantastic, but so are belly busters! (FYI for anyone who doesn't know, they're glazed cinnamon rolls as big as your head)

I'm pretty sure I'll be there.
I will bring some steel targets.
I will bring some bacon. I'll go 2 pounds. If a lot of people post up, maybe 3.
I will bring a couple Coleman stoves. Gas type and water to make coffee. The crunchy kind with grounds possibly in there. I don't do cream or sugar.
I will have Styrofoam cups.

I will bring a pistol or two (maybe glock, kahr, shield, lpc, ruger redhawk)

and a rifle or 2 if the PA10 comes in.

I will bring brass as promised.
.45lc, .40, 9mm.
I also found some more .45 ACP available for whoever posts a claim first.

I'll be there pending disaster. I'll bring large bore pistols and rifles. I will also have an assortment of ammo if anyone needs some extra to shoot.

If you need me to bring something just yell.

I was looking through steel I have to come up with another way to hang / support some of my steel targets.

I had a couple really old pieces of 1/4" plate bent on a 90 degree angle.
I was looking for some cheap ( free) springs but all I came up with were some Volkswagon coils.
I took my stuff to our school. It's inside with heat and the welding instructor brought fat pills (well , donuts).
I wasn'y sure how I wanted to fab these.
I welded the springs onto the plates. The spring openings were too small for 3" pipe and too large for 3" pipe.
I slotted the 3 inch and took about 5/8" of metal out and pounded the pipe together.

So far , I have this.

I think I'll weld a 1" piece of bar stock onto a plate with a piece of 2" pipe as a guide, movement restrictor, slot the 3" to receive the plate. This would make it modular and easier to transport and assemble.

There will be a 1" socket weld tee about 4 1/2 feet above the plate and 2 AR500 rounds will hang from that.


That is the plan. Hope I have time to finish them.
If, by chance, my PA10 come in, priorities may change to shoot that a day instead of playing with steel.


Bacon. I think Georges' Little Store has some nice, thick sliced bacon I can get while I'm at camp fishing next week.

I'm still tentative. If I do make it, will be packing light with a brace of Rugers in 45 colt, maybe a Rossi M92 rifle.
