Re: Pittsburgh Wants to Sue to End State Preemption of Firearms Laws
When I lived in Colorado, then Mayor Hickenlooper (Narberth, PA native) passed an Assault Weapons Ban in Denver, so my AR-15's and mags were essentially illegal. Fortunately, I knew better than to live in the city, but it shows you that they just want to make it onerous, difficult and uncertain for gun owners.

Re: Pittsburgh Wants to Sue to End State Preemption of Firearms Laws
Kinda makes me feel like taking a nice stroll downtown with one of my baby kil... uh I mean AR rifles. I'm sure the city will accommodate us like they did for the cuckoo birds who "shut it down" with their un-permitted marches down various city streets last summer.

Re: Pittsburgh Wants to Sue to End State Preemption of Firearms Laws
It kinda sounds like we're screwed on this one if they actually sue. The AG won't want to mount a good defense, and even if he did the state SC is full-on democrat now.
From my non-lawyer standpoint it basically looks like Dem cities can challenge and overturn any pro-gun law that they want to. Am I wrong?

Re: Pittsburgh Wants to Sue to End State Preemption of Firearms Laws
There is plenty of case law that decided against a number of municipalities making their own local laws preempting state law in the past 20 years. The question: If the PA AG has any integrity, he would do his job in a non-partisan manner and defend the Commonwealth against suits against the preemption laws.

Re: Pittsburgh Wants to Sue to End State Preemption of Firearms Laws
If that's the case is there any way to sue saying the AG has a conflict of interest and should be removed from the case? Or would it have to be forced it to higher courts somehow? And could private citizens/lawers do such petitioning to force it to higher courts?
I'm assuming most of this question needs to be answered by Gunlawyer.
