Default Before and After - How has PAFOA Changed YOU?

The idea for this thread came when I found an old photo of "all my guns".
I chuckled when I saw it and realized that if not for this forum (and mostly the group shoots associated with it), I would likely not own nearly as many guns as I do.

As I started to type, I thought about how many OTHER ways this forum has changed me - everything from being more knowledgeable about firearms in general, to how I think about things now vs "pre-PAFOA".

My initial concept for this thread was simply "how many guns do you own now vs before you found PAFOA?", but opening it up to ANY ways you/your views have changed should provide for some pretty interesting posts. (and hopefully not too many arguments)

    So let's see what happens...

    looking forward to reading responses.

    1. the "Share deals" thread has absolutely destroyed my wallet. But I have way more better stuff.

    2. Education. I think PAFOA is a huge help with sharing good information and an education of firearms.

This forum has educated me in so many ways. Firearms goes without saying but the Political knowledge that I have gained here is quite substantial. Lots of really smart folks here.

I won't blame POOFA for my gun purchases, YouTube gets the blame for that.

I thank the group shoot for what NOT to buy

Here's the image that got me to thinking...

    I had to laugh.
BEFORE PAFOA, I owned the shotgun, the G19 and the FI Model D. (wood grips)

That photo was posted in 2008 and since then, I now have almost as many AR15s alone as I had total number of guns in that photo!
Three of the above have been sold over the years - "replaced" many times over by others.

    Pre-PAFOA = "a few guns"
Post-PAFOA = "Do you REALLY need ANOTHER gun???" (LOL)

    Share deals broke, check!

Never would have thought I’d be meeting "strangers" from across the state and protest/rally and shoot amazing guns in a field in the middle of nowhere.

For Sale, weather p2p or p2b has been great.

Enjoy the camaraderie hanging out online with like minded people.

Didn't change me. Got some good info and met some interesting folks.
It did confirm that for all the awesomeness here there is still a lot of ignorance and very biased opinion combined with pseudo bravado. Thankfully that is just a small but vocal minority.

Your photo is very nice! Kudos! Have you ever thought of photographing your firearms for identification purposes in case of theft or loss?

Because of the time I’ve spent reading on the forum, my wife and I no longer need to buy birth control!

The main thing I got was that PA doesn't only have fudds and antis, but also gun/shooting enthusiast such as myself. I am well better informed politically. I am poorer due to to classified and "Share Deals". But richer for "meeting" all of you clowns online. I'm glad I found Poofa while looking on another site for reloading data, otherwise I would never know it existed.

    This is similar to me.

Before POOFA, I would never have considered marching on Pittsburgh with a rifle on my back. I've also met wonderful people across the state. That makes me want to fight side by side with yinz like never before. I also learned that we can put aside or forum differences and get together for bacon, guns, and rallies.
Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.
