Default Good Prices for Glock 19

Hello All - Although I am a newly registered user of this site, I have learned so much over the last couple of weeks from reading everyone's posts/feedback. With that being said, I am looking to purchase my first gun and am leaning toward the Gen 3 Glock 19 for home protection. Since I am a novice at buying guns, I was hoping someone could tell me what a good price for one would be? The cheapest I have seen is $515. Is this a good price? I live in Dauphin County. Also, does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy from?

    Thanks so much!

Most G19's at a gun shop will be the gen 4 unless they are used.

Buying a used gun is not a problem and will save you some money. I picked up a "used" G19 here on the classifieds. It was never fired and under $400 with the transfer. That was cheap and they normally go for 400-450. Brand new go for 500-550.

Call around and see who has the best price, most shops will have a g19 in stock. You could wait for the next gun show and get one there.
In the mean time, keep checking the classifieds or place a wanted add.

I'm not sure if mail order is an option but I've purchased from Glockmeister before. They have Gen3 G19 for $499 delivered and Gen4 for $549. The gun would have to be sent to an FFL in your area where you would pay a transfer fee when you pick it up.

That being said, I like to save a few bucks but for a $15 dollar difference I'd buy local. G19 is a popular model, you should have no trouble finding one. I'm also a big fan of buying used.

G19's are always popping up in the classifieds. $515 for a brand new one is about average. It's certainly not a bad price.

I picked up a used Gen 3 G19 from my local shop for $375 + $5 PICS fee. I would say $375-425 would be fair for a used Gen 3.

With my LE discount, they're $398 at Atlantic Tactical in New Cumberland. I see you're relatively close to there. Call them & see what their price to the public is.

Unfortunately, nowhere near you. It's a shop in Newport Township called Piestrak's. Best/ friendliest shop I've ever been too IMO. Good luck on your search.
