Default Utah and Fl/Del concealed carry permit classes

I have a basic understanding about these classes.

From what I gather, you take the course and you can then submit an application for a carry permit. Utah covers like 30 states correct? Are the licenses hard to get? Are these courses worth it?

Any recommendations as to where to take the courses, I am in SE PA.

King's Shooter Supply and TSS in Avondale offer them.

    Thanks!

This seems to be a common misconception and a bit of semantics. If you lived in Utah it would get you those states but you don't and PA already gets you most of those, all but four or five as a matter of fact. Add Utah to your PA and you get DE, WA and a couple of others on the other side of the country. You still won't the whichever of the Carolinas that doesn't honor ours or New Mexico. For the most part all it gets us is DE and both FL and UT will provide that. AFAIK you need your PA LTCF to get either FL or UT permits.

I appreciate the clearing up of this! Thank you!

South Carolina is the one you can't get unles you are a non-resident landowner in the state. You are able to have a loaded handgun in an unlocked center console or glove box but not under the seat.

If you want to carry in Delaware, then the nonresident permits are helpful, unless of course you will be at the 3 or 4 states out west that Pennsylvania does not cover. Arizona may be the easiest because you only need the first set of fingerprints and no extra course. Utah and Arizone are also cheaper than Florida and Virginia, which both (VA &FL) require a new set of fingerprints with each renewal.

In my experience the licenses are not hard to get. Basically take the course and submit the application.
Hence the courses are worth it.

    According to this website: https://www.usacarry.com/concealed_c...city_maps.html

Having PA gets you these states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

Adding UT will add these four states:
    Washington, Nevada, Nebraska, and Delaware

Adding AZ will add these four states:
New Mexico, Nevada, Nebraska, and Delaware

    * Note: You'll notice neither PA, UT, or AZ permit get you Maine.
However; Maine is a Constitutional Carry state for both residents and non-residents. So no permit needed.

You still need a Maine permit to carry in state and national parks and state and national forests.

Thanks for noting permit needed for state parks.
However; don't nation parks, forests, rec areas, monuments, etc ... follow state law ?

Yes. Correct. We were talking about Maine here right?

You are probably about 3 hours from Virginia, and you can get a non-resident permit from Va. by mail. Even though it has reciprocity with PA, I like to get permits from states I travel in. I would rather have a permit from the state where I am standing, as I prefer to avoid trying to explain the concept of reciprocity by the side of the road at night.
