Default Gvt. shut down fall out

BATF will not, or minimally, be processing applications for NFA items during the Government shut down. If you have any applications pending or were going to file a form for transfer you better plan on waiting a long time.

Will they cease enforcement operations as well?

I just had a form 4 delivered a week ago. I expect this shut down will caused me a few extra months.

Right and how do they get to use the Shumer Shutdown as an excuse to select which of their duties they will or will not be carrying out?

What's a "long time" when you're talking the ATF? Doesn't it already take 6 months or more for those items anyway?

I think the wait time is averaging 8 months. I have been tracking it on the AR15 boards.

I had a Form 5 transfer to an SOT dealer of a registered Dewat done in 6 weeks. I will now have to wait who knows how long for a Form 5 transfer to me and then a Form 1 OK to re-activate the Dewat.

I think those form 5s are handled the same way a C3 to C3 transfer is done. I had one done same day. The C3 dealer faxed in the transfer document and it was signed in a few hours and sent right back to him.
