They probably gave each other their shaft.

I'm not playing what if. A good shoot will be a good shoot. No ambiguity. I was attacked without provocation

There are plenty of self defense shootings each year. There are no charges, no plea deals and no publicity given to them. Some seem to think it's most likely you'll be charged. Hardly the case

I think things like that DO hold some weight in court.... but not much. It will definately be examined closely and might sway a juror or two for a "guilty" verdict IF the odds are already leaning against you.

Which means shooting someone was most likely questionable to begin with. That's why I asked about the intoxicated remark. A bad shoot the facts will usually be enough to convict.

    weird thread indeed.
based on things I've done and experienced in the past. and the fact that i place mine and my own above all else... without a doubt, if it's in my face. like the other thread, if someone is robbing a store (like our local walmart, again) i'm bailing out. it's walmart's, everyone else's and the police's problem.

as far as animals go, PGC's regulations are a shame, i kind of understand what they're doing though. don't want discharges on roadways, let nature do it's thing, etc.
I've had pets die in my arms as well as at my hand. the only thing stopping me from using a sidearm is my neighbors and regulations.
on a side note, the first time i had to kill a chicken was hilarious, 'coon got at them overnight, left one injured. came up to the wife with blood all over my hands/pant legs and asked her if she wanted to have it for dinner. needed to wash and change before work anyway. she was freaked out. lol. she wouldn't eat or cook it. such a waste :/
There is no way to make it out alive...

Shootings are always questionable. That's why they go to court.

You're missing my point. They don't always or even mostly go to court
That's why I included the link.

That's kind of MY point. But such a case will be looked at more closely to see if it was factor. P. A. may not make it illegal to possess a gun while intoxicated.... OR shoot in self defense if you are... but if you do, EVERYTHING about you which could have effected your judgement will be submitted for examination by the prosecution. 3% or 91% or 0% of it may actually stick in the end. There will be alot of codependent factors which come into play simultaneously to determine that. It's not a perfect flow chart for justice. Imperfect, biased human beings with no prior experience in legal matters will be judging you.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that a good laywer's case against you will be improved by proving your judgment was impaired (alcohol/drugs) at the time... regardless of what you were doing at the time.

I'm not a lawyer, but I watch Blue Bloods every Friday.
