I agree whole-heartedly with your entire post. Good job, but, I have a problem with the quoted statement. Change 'know' to 'have' and i couldn't agree more. You really shouldn't have to know your rights to enjoy them. Those worthless 'violators with badges' should be treating all equally. Whether they can articulate their rights or not, they are still entiteld to enjoy those rights unmolested.
    Time for a MAJOR SLAP-DOWN!!

OP glad that you survived some of Philly's finest.I feel bad for you and how your rights were violated.I can't even imagine how scared/ then pissed I would have been.
I hope that you have recovered from this and pursue whatever legal options that you have.Maybe G.L. will get on and offer some advice.
After you saw the first suv pulled over you were sort of expecting them, but imagine what the poor S.O.B in the other suv went through.I feel really bad for them also. Good luck,be well.

Those officers should take heed. Their fellow brothers that act like this to people are going to only put bigger targets on their backs.
One day, they are going to mess with someone with much less than us to lose in life and with a much shorter fuse.

They all wear the same uniforms and drive the same cars. They are only endangering themselves.
Targets? We don't need no steenkin' targets.

When I was attending college in Philadelphia it was back when Frank Rizzo was Police Commissioner (before he ran for mayor). This was the era of the Black Panthers and other anarchist organizations. My recollection is that at least one police car was (literally) blown up -- with two officers inside.

The United States claims to be a nation of laws, but we are not a nation of laws and we cannot be a nation of laws if the people charged with enforcing the laws don't follow the laws. It's ... just ... that ... simple.

Perhaps N.W.A. said it best after all back in '88...

(Special shout-out to the PPD if you're reading this )

Glad the OP made it out of there without an extra hole or 15 in him from some amped-up cop with poor trigger discipline...

    Regards,

    Bones

Thumbs down Re: Boxed in by 7 of Philly's finest, guns drawn and everything

Positive? Ha.Because we gun owners have accepted a new standard that we tolerate, and that happened to be less than our limit. Watch what happens to apathetic Americans when we let people trample our rights.

How many people would have been threatened with lethal force had the OP not been in the second vehicle? They could have been at that game for possibly hours, just putting matching vehicles in their sights all afternoon. Is there a protocol on search time?

So we have no RAS that a crime of any sort has been committed, and we not only have the cops stopping this citizen, but numerous officers pointing their weapons at him?

If a citizen points his a firearm at another in a threatening manner, that's a crime -- aggravated Assault, I think. Yet Philly's Finest think they can do that with impunity.

    As the OP stated: "Awesome".
