Nice looking grain on those stocks.
Congratulations on the new additions.Μολὼν λαβέ

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
Thanks!
The only reason I bought the M95 was because of the stock, and of course I didn't have any ammo for it so I had to buy some off of Gunbroker for a buck a round.
The M39 has that plug where a knot was, ran the whole way through and they also plugged the other side.
I normally just wax my stocks, but this one was so dry on the surface that the wood was almost starting to turn gray, so I used some Tom's Mix on it.
I think it turned out good.
Couple more of the Steyr wood:
And you know what, I just thought of it, I don't recall seeing an import mark on the Steyr, I'll have to look the next time I'm in the safe.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
No, I don't know a Pat B.
I've bought about 30 Finns and 15 other mil-surps out of a private collection since February, most all were still in the shipping boxes from the early 90's.
I was the first person to see this M39 since it was boxed up at Century when they were in St. Albans Vt.
This one is as close to what I would call mint as one could for a mil-surp.
There are two tiny dents in the wood near the left side tang, about half the size of a pencil eraser.
This one is by far my best example.
The boxes are numbered, I was looking down the owners list and noticed the serial number so I figured it was a late date, I was wanting a shooter as well, I open the box and another 1969.
I already bought one from him last month, it's as new as well, so is the '68 I got, I think I'll stick to shooting this one:

Pat Burns, The person in NY who has sold and it still selling almost all the M39 that were imported into the country.
69 is a rare year for m39s and demand a premium.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
I think I've heard him mentioned on Gunboards.
All my M39's are Century Imports.
I now have a '67, a '68 and 2 '69's.
This '69 also falls under the listed serial number range written on mosinnagant.net's M39 page.
I normally don't mind posting my serial numbers, but in this case I figured I would keep pics of it off the net.
Here's an edited pic, you can see it's near the bottom of the known range listed.
I'm still hoping a No Maker No Date, a No Maker "48" and a Puolustuslaitos will show up (yeah, right...).
There are still about 8 M39's left in the collection, I just haven't gotten to them yet.Last edited by 39flathead; July 23rd, 2014 at 10:07 PM.

Re: What did you buy yourself today (Photo thread)...
I had the chance to buy a used LE 40S&W Glock 22 and decided to get it refinished with the Cerakote's Federal Standard Field Drab color. The guys at Legacy Armory did a great job. The first picture is a stock photo of one of the used Glock 22's that were available from this police trade-in group and the one I received looked pretty much like the photo.
and here's my Glock after they refinished it, they even did the flashlight for me. Price was around $180 plus shipping.
