Yeah that sounds kind of nuts, I would skip the cops and call your local gun store and ask the clerk they should defiantly know.

It's no guarantee, but it would be useful to know how they are going to order the officers to enforce the statute. The wording may hold up in court, but that means little if dozens of us are cuffed and stuffed and have to spend thousands of dollars defending an illegal arrest.

I don't understand the confusion. A LTCF is an exemption. With a LTCF, SOE doesn't prohibit your carry of any type of firearm.

I think the confusion is with what the definition of firearm is in relation to the SOE.

    Also,

I'll bet 1000 dollars that the police aren't interested in mass arrests or checking LTCFs.

That is evidently the confusion. People have listed two totally different versions of the statute and there's different definitions of firearms being used.

As I read it Justin, I agree with you.

    SOE has it's own definition.

This is another glaring example of the trap of our statutes that needs cleaned up. In other words, get read of this SOE bullshit. So if I don't have a LTCF, I can open carry if I'm actively engaged in self defense? WTF does that even mean?

Here's a Josh Prince post that kind of navigates the language traps.

It doesn't matter, read 6107 alone.

It says you can't carry a firearm unless you're licensed under 6109, then defines firearm as any gun. The definition in the section is the only definition that matters regarding that section.

So under 6107 you can carry a rifle if you're licensed under 6109. Not in compliance with all provisions of 6109; just licensed under.

Again, that's the way I read it as well. It seems people who don't want rifles carried to the rally are mudding the waters.
