In the 50s and 60s the issue revolver was the S&W Model 10 Military and Police, 6" barrel, and between the Colt Official Police and the Ruger Security Six, they issued the Colt Trooper MkIII in 357.

Were they in a particular serial number range? Different grips? Different sights? Any special markings (we know no Trooper crest)? The only "Special" Ruger Security Sixes that were made for the PSP were Stainless Steel 4" barreled Commemoratives. The made 92 of them in 1985. All of the other Ruger PSP Security Sixes were stock guns with no special markings butt had one difference over the typical Security Six. The PSP guns had a taller front sight to match up with the ammo they were carrying.
