Re: Contagion 2011 Official Thread
Same tired old gear? The duty belt, harness, etc. all new last year, along with the red dot on the rifle. And I also count the ballistics calculator on the ipad that I brought (not that I used it) as cool new gear.
And I wouldn't throw the word "old" around too much. That shotgun you used last year wasn't even made in the last century, was it?

Re: Contagion 2011 Official Thread
Instead of paying college tuition, I should have bought a shotgun and a rifle so I could do this... I may still come watch.
Kinda OT, but is there any pistol only zombie shoots for those of us too poor to own more than one firearm? Answers via PM are fine to keep the thread on topic.

You folks might consider a Camelpack or a couple of 1qt canteens to add to your load. First week of September looks like its going to be a hot one!

Re: Contagion 2011 Official Thread
That's them new-fangled shotguns. This one was an original 1897 without the disconnector - so its just - pump BOOM pump BOOM, etc.
Unfortunately I didnt practice enough ahead of time with this technique, so the recoil plus racking of the pump kept bringing my barrel up. What it showed in flamboyance was taken away with lack of accuracy. But thats more the user than the tool
So its back to actually aiming with the shotgun - oh well
But yes, I was thinking a camelback is necessary this time - just noticed my vest has a pocket built in for one.

Feel free to bring a camelback but we will have bottled water for sale at a very reasonable price.

Get ready to laugh Gary, my wife will be the one with the Camelrig on!!! If it doesn't go click or boom, it's not going on my LBE. .
The Mrs. has to have a "cold" source of H20 where ever she may be. It's a girly thing I think? Anyway I plan on procuring cold hydration from your stockpile at whatever the price may be. It's bad enough that my wife's truck is going to be packed to the gills with everything from "evil black things", 5 ppl, and plenty of food for the donation.
I'm really looking forward to this event. It get's better every year!!
