Re: Concealed carry in a cargo pocket.
Whats wrong with having it secured in my cargo pocket?

Re: Concealed carry in a cargo pocket.
I have a hard time getting a cell phone out of my cargo pants. If you are wearing true BDUs, they have buttons that would need to be replaced with some kind of velcro. It is up to you, but I would rather have the firearm on my ankle.

Only issue I could see is how the pants fit your body where the cargo pocket is. If there room for the firearm to flop around and bang against your leg it will. The ankle generally provides a more secure mount, especially the ankle holsters that lace onto a duty style boot.

Re: Concealed carry in a cargo pocket.
"Secured" is the operative word.
Acquiring a positive "grip index" should be the paramount consideration. Unless you can find a method or a means to position the handgun "securely", I would recommend against letting it flop around "willy-nilly / helter-skelter" in the cargo pocket.
Note DanP's suggestion or find a "pocket holster" expressly designed for a cargo pocket.

Re: Concealed carry in a cargo pocket.
An ankle holster is the worst possible solution.
Consider a low profile shoulder holster.

This is one such lace on ankle holster. I've seen others in U.S. Calvalry and other catalogs. I think their intended more for the 8" style duty boots.
The Desantis sticky pocket holster I posted earlier might also be an option for the cargo pocket. I agree that if the pocket is button closed you might want to switch it to velcro.

I would switch any pocket to velcro. They are currently a button.
I'm not sure a shoulder holster would work. My uniform shirt is tucked in and it is a polo-type shirt, not button up.Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President
