I can't picture any local politician doing something like this. If someone outside tried it they would need to send a batt. of national guard or the Marines in. Anything less and I would pack up my guns, go up the hill, and watch the war through my spotting scope. If they did send that Batt . I would bugout.

It is a scary proposal, I want to know, really, what would you do?
Nothing, it won't happen anytime soon.

If you read it over, count the number of flagrant legal violations...unannounced house-by-house searches and government confiscation of personal property are the two big obvious ones.

I love this passage, the author tries to declare credibility by citing "prior experience":
As a child I played cowboys and Indians with cap guns. I had a Daisy Red Ryder B-B gun. My father had in his bedside table drawer an old pistol which I examined surreptitiously from time to time. When assigned to the American embassy in Beirut during the war in Lebanon, I sometimes carried a .357 Magnum, which I could fire accurately. I also learned there to handle and fire a variety of weapons, including Uzis and rocket-propelled grenade launchers.
By this same line of reasoning, since I wrote in school, college and elsewhere that makes me an expert on journalism. Maybe his next career move is ob/gyn since he's known to have jerked off.

His article is the standard misconception that 2A has something to do with hunting. I don't quite understand where people get this.

I still don't understand why people during hurricane katrina willing gave up their guns.

You're home is flooding. All of your neighbors, police, and infrastructure are gone. You're family is nearly swimming in highly-polluted water. Boots with guns come to your home and demand your guns before they'll help you and your family.

IMO, this question is a lot simpler with 20/20 hindsight. I won't condemn any person for making the choice they felt was in the best interest of their own safety and that of their family.

I'm surprised to hear that coming from you... I don't disagree with you, because that's reality... I'm just... it's just that...

    D-FENS, is that really you?

I know the topic is "what would you do?", but I can't really answer that without knowing the surrounding circumstances.
For those who say "it will never happen here", Katrina IS a good reminder that it CAN and HAS happened.

Guns? What guns, we don't own no guns.. We only come here for the gun porn, while it's still legal to do so...

I can't believe anyone would accuse me of owning guns.

Oh and if you find any buried on the property, they belong to the neighbor up the street. Arrest him and take him away and I will console his pretty wife.....LOL
I'm being sarcastic and kidding, I don't even know the neighbor up the street..

This guy is missing the big picture... he needs to read that zombie thread on this forum. Anyone see the movies 28 days and 28 weeks? PERFECT setting for the films - England. Where the populace could not defend themselves against their neighbors and friends who became infected.
My zombie slaying Rem. 870 is gonna stay right where its at!

If we were to ever adopt some of the laws like other countries and guns were illegal to own. It only makes sense Ammo is illegal.. So aside from waiting for the revolution to start. What is the point in still having the gun?

If you use it for anything you now go to jail so why bother keeping it?

Unless the say the ban goes into effect you are prepared to give up life as you know it and go into gorrilla warfare mode??
