Re: Oaks Gun Show - Eagle Arms
I went to the show today with the wife. As we were leaving, I was telling her how funny it was that there is a ton of guns and only two cops posted at the entrance (excluding the undercover folks obviously). No one was shot with a gun, held up at gun point, stabbed with a bayonet or knife, beaten with a buttstock or nunchucks, etc. Amazing but the anti-gun crowd would never believe you.

Re: Oaks Gun Show - Eagle Arms
I skipped this one. Nothing I really needed. I've been disappointed on prices at recent shows anyway.
Stayed home and edged the front yard garden, put in some japanese barberry's, and mulched.

Re: Oaks Gun Show - Eagle Arms
This was my first gun show, and I enjoyed it. I got a few cases of 5.56mm, some cheap reloading supplies, and some other odds and ends. It can be a bit overwhelming at times trying to see everything. I had a small list, but planned on lots of browsing.
A few notes:
-There are quite a few of what looked like overprice Garands ($1000+). I'm not sure if people know that decent Garands can be had for $525-625 at the CMP.
-I was pleasantly surprised to find an ammo dealer selling 5.56 XM855 in packs of 30 for what turned out to be cheaper than the bulk 308ammo.com vendor.
-I also saw a couple of M&P Shields for $400 Saturday morning. Two of the vendors that had it said it was their last one. After handling the one, I went back soon after and it was gone. I was on the fence about the other, but decided to hold off.

I thought this was a great show. Lots of vendors, lots of good stuff and prices for things I was interested in were extremely reasonable.

Re: Oaks Gun Show - Eagle Arms
Oh, one more thing. On Saturday, I got to watch the aftermath of someone who had apparently failed a PICS check. I guess he had some significant issues - Not only was he out the money for being denied, he got a nice pair of shiny metal bracelets and an escort from the premises.

Re: Oaks Gun Show - Eagle Arms
I bought a Sig P238 from Matt Somer. Really nice guy and a good price. I've noticed that the current crop of P238s with nitro finish and laser are cheaper than the just plain nitro finish; can't figure out why. Also, after reading about the plan to put out PFOA signs, I couldn't resist printing a couple of labels with PFOA on them since I couldn't find my PFOA button, so I gave Matt one to put on his show case. The other I put on my lapel, but it kept falling off.

Went yesterday with the wife. Didn't get much - just some .22 Magnum ammo that was cheaper than I've seen elsewhere. Wife wanted to get a tactical light, but passed. I was looking for a Ruger Security Six, but couldn't find one.

Re: Oaks Gun Show - Eagle Arms
Thanks to all the vendors that posted signs stating their PAFOA membership. It was nice to put some faces to names and to help out if they had anything I was looking for.
Personally I was there just to look around. Ended up with a GI guide rod and cap to replace the full-length that I have in my Taurus now for $20 and picked up 400 rounds of clean once-fired .45acp for $22
Was looking for a good deal on a used .357, but didn't "pull the trigger" on anything.DISCOUNTS - Steel Target Paint: beaverje10 (10% off) | Wiland USA: jbeaver05 (5% off)
