State Game Lands - LTCF
Hi...
I've read the other posts discussing how it is now ok to carry if you have a LTCF while hunting. I think that's great and plan to carry when I go hunting.
I've also seen the posts regarding the prohibition to carrying while in State Parks. I saw a few times State Game lands come up. But I never saw anyone discuss carrying on State Game lands when it is NOT hunting season. I browsed through the Consolidated Statutes now that they are online and didn't see anything.
My question is if I go scouting on State Game lands before hunting season am I prohibited from carrying if I have a LTCF? Please post a link to the statute/reference if you can. Thanks in advance.

Re: State Game Lands - LTCF
You aren't prohibited from it since there is no specific law or regulation baring the carrying of "firearms" for protection while on State Game Lands. Game Lands are public domain, open to all to enjoy.
In absence of law that prohibits, it by default is legal. Laws makes things illegal - not legal.Last edited by knight0334; August 6th, 2007 at 08:37 PM.

Re: State Game Lands - LTCF
The logical answer to that is only do so at established shooting ranges. Otherwise the discharge of the firearm could be construed by an over-zealous Game Commission officer as hunting(our local Warden is that type of person).
Follow the rules while shooting at the ranges, there are firearm capacity rules. You can shoot semi-auto's, but you should only load 6 rnds in handguns and 3-4 rnds(?) in semi-rifles. Theres another thread at this site describing the rules, and what can happen if you dont follow them.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

Re: State Game Lands - LTCF
"plinking" on game lands is known as "shooting at random" and not allowed
