National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
So, as I understand it, two separate laws are going into effect soon.
Just to clarify, sometime in December or January, we can now conceal carry in both state parks and national parks? What about OC?

Re: National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
If I'm not mistaken, today is the day the state park carry goes into effect. The other I'm not so sure.

Re: National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
I thought it was the 18th that it took effect. It's nice that the National Park carry is no longer tied to State Park carry.
As I understand what I've read, it's concealed only.Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President

Re: National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
National Park Carry is still tied to State Park Carry. If you can't do it in the State Park can't do it in Federal. 17th is the date for state parks. No open carry though.

Re: National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
NOPE. The final draft says that it is permitted if the STATE allows CCW. The language changed. So that part of HB1845, which was written just for this purpose, was not needed. Although it still allows us to carry in State Parks.

Re: National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
Interesting because we're always told that the law says what you may NOT do and here it's "the law says you MAY do this..." and so the interpretation is that the law says CONCEAL CARRY. Does the law specifically say NO OC? I am not challenging it nor do I intend to run around a state or national park OC to see what happens by any means. I'm just curious.... I hope someone understands what I am pointing out.

Re: National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
I don't have the language infront of me right now, but as I remember, firearms are still restricted unless you fall under one of the exceptions. One of the exceptions is if you are carrying pursuant to (XXXX) section that deals with LTCF.
So it actually says what you CAN'T do but lists some exceptions to the rule.Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President

Re: National Parks & State Parks Concealed Carry
Ok, I really try to stay up on this stuff, but I have a real interest in this one so can I ask for clarification? Will a PA resident with a PA LTCF be permitted to CC in a state park? Like say Lynn Run/ Laurel Summit?
