    Default radios

Sorry if this has been discussed before, too lazy to search
Any thoughts on these? Real or fake? $399 for two. Seems like
a good thing with "unlimited" range and no fees after purchase.
But if something seems too good to be true, it usually is !

I've been seeing htose fb ads as well. I assume that any ad on fb is snake oil. If I was curious enough, i would search youtube for them, someone has to have done a review.

Unlimited range is a farce. Handheld radios have limited power and antenna height. Both reduce range. Unless they are hitting a repeater, there are probably not much better than line of sight.

Anything advertising unlimited range is fake.

They are internet connected radios. Point to point over cellular. They are LTE radios. Included is 1 year of service. Then after that, it's $50 a year per radio. They can remotely reprogram your radio, as well as get your gps info.

It's not a radio. it's a cell phone that can't text or internet.

That makes sense I guess. So as an emergency radio, not much good if power/internet/wifi is down then.
