Re: How many AR's do I need?
As an aside comment my suggested order of ownership if starting out
1. No frills entry level rifle
2. Tools to modify your entry level rifle, and to build and/or modify your follow on rifles
3. Build dedicated .22 rim fire upper / then lower
After that whatever tickles your fancy.

I often refer to AR's as Mr.Potatohead because of all the interchangeable parts. I have an early Bushmaster full-size -A2 clone and a simple M4gery.
I don't speak English , I talk American!

Re: How many AR's do I need?
I already have a "spare" inexpensive one, but but but this is so cheap for a decent rifle I find it hard to pass on ! I will probably buy ammo instead as that is the critical component right now...

Re: How many AR's do I need?
Two per resident of the house is my thought. Plus enough ammo to account for training and SHTF

Re: How many AR's do I need?
So, I shouldn't mention that I do not own an AR?

Re: How many AR's do I need?
At least two. Spare rifles are better than spare parts.
But I'd rather have at least one very good rifle and one beater than XX # of entry level / low end ones.
So if it's just another lower budget one then save for a very nice one or consolidate the others. I'm talking the $1500-1700 range Geissele, DD, BCM or LWRC.
But one rifle is always better than none.
