I'm thinking about doing a little different design on that jig. With it being so cold in the workshop, the printer has a difficult time printing tall vertical prints. They have a tendency to delaminate during printing. The part that's upright, I can design it to have a couple of recessed screws on the top holding the vertical pieces in place. Then remove the vertical pieces from the top and lay them flat so they can be printed with more strength.

This might also work if once of the pieces gets screwed up, it could just be swapped out for a fresh piece without ruining the entire jig. just a thought.

That model also includes a depth and width gauge that I don't know if anyone that has a jig has or not. But that would also be great to have to make sure your milling is deep enough. I'll get to work on modifying that model later this week after I get my server back online. I'll probably print them in ABS so that they can be smoothed after printing.

If we go with an hour give or take, then we are limited to what, maybe 6 people tops?

Yes but I don't think it should take an hour. Do we have to do any milling or are we just drilling precise holes with an end mill?

Oh, and I checked, I have one suitable 5/16" end mill but it only gets 1/2" in the collet to leave 2" sticking out, is 1/2" in the collet enough?

ETA: And my 3/8" end mill is about the same.

Usually it's drilling followed by passes with the end mill to cut away the remainder.

Hmmm...I do think I recall him saying that the mill is used to clean up burrs, does that sound right?

It's using a circular drill to remove as much as possible, then using the end mill to remove the rest to create a rectangular cavity more or less.
You end up with many curved triangular sections along the walls that need removal, and the floor of the cavity needs to be flattened.

I was under the impression that the mag well and area where the FCG went had to be milled out. What companies 80% lowers are you using?

Pictures of 80%'s I'm looking at right now show the magwell is completed but the FCG needs opened and the holes drilled.
