Counties that don't require references?
I was just wondering what counties don't require you to put down anything for references besides Philly?
I live in Bucks, and I don't want to give out any information on people I know, as well as having people know I am getting a LTCF. I feel that it's a violation of my privacy for them to call and inform people that I'm getting a LTCF.
Philly doesn't allow other counties to apply. Does anyone know of any other counties I can go to where it's optional to put down references?
*Edit: Calm down folks, It's ok. I just put 2 references and got my license. Now I can walk around with a gun in my pocket. Or maybe I'm just happy to see you.Last edited by Supreme General Aladeen; March 15th, 2019 at 05:47 PM.

Re: Counties that don't require references?
You must apply in your county of residence......state law.
I think you will find that many never contact the references. It's on the form, so most sheriff's require you to fill it out completely.
If your county issues on the spot, obviously they're not contacting anybody.
I have never had a reference contacted.

Re: Counties that don't require references?
Yep. But the question was what county is optional? I don't want to have that information on form and in writing. I know that almost all the time they are never contacted, but for me, it's a matter of privacy. If you do know of any counties, would be awesome to know. I've been looking around a bit to see what I can find, but not much is coming up.

Then don't put it on the form and deal with the consequences.
I, for one, was surprised when Philadelphia came out with the "no references required" as part of their lawsuit settlement. It hadn't even been asked for, yet there it was.
Indiana County, for one, no longer requires references on renewals (even though the "requirement" is on the form).
