It certainly looks like one of those old radiator caps, but I have yet to find one that looks just like it. Maybe it's especially early and rare? I thought maybe an oiler/bubbler, but can't find one that looks just like that either.

After looking at those I wonder if the one in the OP isn't missing some parts. Those two threaded arms might thread onto and off of a nut that would be below the piece to aid in removal of it from the radiator then store in the position that they are in now. Originally Posted by Parrisk

I can recall a sight glass that looked similar when taking readings aboard the USS Davis 937 in the 1970s.Serverd USS Damato 837 out of Norfolk and Uss Davis in Boston in the 1970s,USS Damato took artilery hits in the 1960s Vietnam and back to Norfolk for repairs !
