So moving opening day of deer season and allowing SA rifles is just too many changes for PA hunters to wrap their heads around?

I scrolled down the comments of the page for a few seconds, and closed it. It's not worth the blood pressure coming home after work.

If PA hunters represent a majority of PA gun owners (not saying they do), we're going to turn into NJ a lot faster than I had thought.

They could try it with a dedicated semi auto season like they do for everything else.

You know...I wonder if it was all part of their strategy from the beginning to make the Saturday Opener thing more easily to digest from the "traditionalists" ?? I was at the PAGC meeting where public comments were being voiced. NO ONE was calling for SEMI-AUTOS and I was surprised when I read about the decision on Tuesday...I was thinking, "NO WAY...That would be awesome." But part of me was thinking..."Maybe they offer Semi-Autos knowing full well that the Saturday Opener will create a bunch of belly aching, and then they remove the Semi-Auto to make it easier for "traditionalists" to accept the Saturday Opener...??? Oh well maybe someday. Still think every argument Against Semi-Autos is illogical.

I think that's a good theory. Maybe there is another one. The governor was blindsided by the proposal and had to squash it because the increased use of semi automatic firearms and possible increase in their sales would be totally opposite of what he and Bloomberg are trying to accomplish.

Way too many wounded deer wasted by lever operators, we don't need semi operators out there.......

Has a lot more to do with lack of marksmanship fundamentals rather than action type.
