Zastava was already producing them with the m77. I remember watching videos where security forces used them to make some pretty big holes in Somalian pirates.
You can still find them unmolested with the black plastic compliance furniture.

Saiga had a 308 AK out for a while as well.

I'd rather a Galil or Valmet , both AK-based rifles in 7.62x51 NATO , but very high quality.
