Zastava was already producing them with the m77. I remember watching videos where security forces used them to make some pretty big holes in Somalian pirates.

You can still find them unmolested with the black plastic compliance furniture.

Saiga had a 308 AK out for a while as well.
The one i had ran very well.

I'd rather a Galil or Valmet , both AK-based rifles in 7.62x51 NATO , but very high quality.

Both are high quality and both will set you back between 2 and 4 grand. I sold my Galil Arm in 308 for 4 grand back in 2012.

You should have bought it, could have sold it at a handsome profit. I had a chance to buy a Class 3 M60 for 10k back in the 80's, if I knew then what I know now I would have bought all the C3 I could afford.
