Opinions on S&W model 60-10 vs S&W model M640 Pro
Hello,
I'm considering two different S&W revolvers. Both are J Frames in stainless, .357 caliber. The model 60-10 is a pre lock in excellent condition. The M640 Pro would be new. I'm looking for it to be mainly a CC revolver. Does anyone have either or both of these that could chime in and give their pros and cons?

The only real difference should be the sights, the hammer, and possibly the barrel length. The 640 pro is designed with carry in mind. DAO, internal hammer, sights with less rough edges.
The adjustable rear sight, red ramp front sight, and cockable hammer would make the model 60 a better shooter on range day. And if the barrel is any longer (depending upon the specific pistol you're looking at) you would get a little more velocity, which means more energy delivered.

Re: Opinions on S&W model 60-10 vs S&W model M640 Pro
Well, I don't believe that 640 pro has a lock. If it does, the lock is easy to disable.
I am personally not an expert, but I do like wheel guns. I own a new model 66-8, which came with a lock. I am very happy with it. I've had a couple very minor and easily correctable issues, but personally I have no regrets.
You can probably find people who will tell you the new Smiths are garbage. I think it is fair to say that they probably don't have the level of craftsmanship of the old guns. But, like I said, I am quite happy with mine, and I doubt I am alone in that.

My 640-1 gets more carry time than my 60. The internal hammer wins for concealed carry.

Well I got the M640 Pro. Got VZ black Cherry G-10 grips and a MK-Tek kydex IWB holster. Dang I love this revolver!! .357 awesomeness. By far my favorite carry piece. Thanks to all for the advice.

I would go with the M640. I like that internal hammer.
