Reading through the OP's posts, he's not a prolific poster, he comes and goes every few months. But hey, at least he's posted more than 6 times in 6 years.

Well into the thread, the OP added:
The trooper who approached me asked me where I was coming from, I told him work, he asked where that was so I told him the address of the property I was working at ( I do property maintenance for a property management co) He asked me where I was going I told him home, he then asked me how long ago I had left work I told him I just left and was on my way home but he wasn't satisfied, he asked me if I had stopped anywhere on my way I said no...he asked me this several times...enough I thought it odd, so I thought through my travels and then said to him " well I pulled over for a min at the shopping center a few blocks back because I hit a bump with the work van and heard a box of nails fall and I wanted to pick them up before they were all over the place, I just pulled into the entrance to the shopping center jumped out and left the engine running, I was at the back of the van for like 20 seconds then on my way again. He then seemed satisfied and handed me back my licenses and that's when he told me what his partner had done.
Doesn't it sounds like the cops might have pulled him over because he was a "person of interest" in some sort of recent incident? That they believed the van fit the description of one they were looking for, or that someone reported the OP as being suspicious?

I don't think this makes disassembling his pistol any more appropriate, but it does add more questions about the stop and questioning, and perhaps the cops' heightened wariness.

I generally agree that there is no reason for cops to disarm drivers and fool around with their firearms. But perhaps this stop wasn't really a routine traffic stop.

Pennsylvania people. We learned something yesterday that is troubling.

The new PA driver's license now relates back to a database that INCLUDES whether or not you have a PA license to carry.

It was brought to our attention when a friend was pulled over last week. She gave the officer her drivers license which officer ran. When he returned to her car he asked if she had a firearm on her to which she replied 'no, why?' The officer explained that they can now see if a person has a LTCF just by running their license.

After some phone calls it was confirmed that PSP turned over all the data on those with a PA LTCF to NCIC, which included it in the information provided for drivers licenses.

Once again PSP have overstepped their authority and you should be mad!

The only way to stop this from happening again is to call your reps and demand they bring SB224 (Eliminate PICS bill) to the floor for a vote. We have it on good authority that it will pass the House and more than likely pass the Senate.

Wonder how well it would fly "I will not resist your illegal order, but I do not consent and will film you actions so I may present them in court"
