Re: I really want to like Taurus... UPDATED
People buy a Taurus because it's cheap and then wonder why or whine that it's a piece of shit!

Exactly.
But, there's no arguing with the Defenders of the Cheap.
Taurus has had a well deserved reputation for producing cheap, junky firearms from the start.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter

Re: I really want to like Taurus... UPDATED
Well again, I have two Taurus revolvers I’ve yet to have a problem with.
Yeah yeah, maybe I will later, but maybe I won’t.
I know the .22mag had well over 800 rounds through it this year and the .357 about 200 as I didn’t get it out that much.
SIG had a drop problem with one of their guns, guess they make cheap junk too?
Are Taurus guns the greatest thing?
Hell no, but cmon, every firearms company has made junk at one time or the other, Taurus just got caught doing it.

Re: I really want to like Taurus...
The only reason to like Taurus is that they are cheaper than top tier manufacturers. I would rather spend the extra money up front and not deal with the issues every Taurus owner I know has dealt with.

Re: I really want to like Taurus...
Seems strange. Other brands do well marketing products made in Brazil. Sounds like the potential is there, company just needs a shake-up...if the percentages of bad warrant it.

The Brazilian military and police still buy revolvers from Smith & Wesson , not Taurus.
The Brazilian military used to buy 1911A1s from Colt until Imbel (who made SAInc 1911A1s) started production.I don't speak English , I talk American!

I still can't bring myself to part with my 9 year old PT709. Only Taurus I've ever owned though. If the new ones are as good as mine has been, they are a steal @ 200 bucks.

Re: I really want to like Taurus...
So they got the gun again for the 2nd time on December 5th. For the past two weeks the repair status was 'ready to ship' but never actually shipped. I noticed yesterday that the repair status was bumped back to 'under review'. Maybe they half ass fixed it again and someone still noticed the problem? It's just getting humorous at this point. 6 months without a working gun since buying it brand new.
