Del Co Renewal
Hey guys! I haven't been on in bit and thought I'd check in. I received my renewal notice in the mail right on time to renew two months early around 11/15. My LTCF expires early January. The letter was dated September though. I took it up to the county courthouse with $20 the day it arrived. It has been about three weeks so far. I was in L.A. for the last week and a half and forgot all about it but I'm sure it will take a few more weeks. It went smooth as far as renewing at the courthouse; no lines and quick processing. The lady who helped me was very nice. I'll be sure to follow-up when I get the letter back from the sheriff to give an idea how long the process took for those that are curious.
I miss the forum and will try to be more active on it. Great source of information.

Re: Del Co Renewal
Yes, we do--Jerry Sanders. I was surprised Sheriff McFall-Hopper lost. Not for any other reason than incumbency tends to be hard to beat. She lives near me. But a lot of new people were elected last month. A wave election I guess they call it. I hope he is pro-2A. I'll give him the benefit until proven otherwise.
As ohers have mentioned, I wonder why we can't move to a system where it's all done in one shot. Maybe because Del-Co is more populated than mid-state counties?

Re: Del Co Renewal
When I got my (first) LTCF almost 5 years ago, I asked that question. The response from the woman behind the counter - who, incidentally, I've known my entire adult life - was (paraphrasing) "well, we do a better job", the suggestion being that they actually do an investigation beyond just PICS. At the time I was happy to just bow and scrape my way out the door with "my precious" in hand, so I didn't take it any further. When I go back to pick up my renewal in a few months I will seek a bit more clarity on what steps they actually take.
