I got myself a new (to me) black buggy on saturday.

I've thought about getting something like that a few times................ but alas i don't have streaker69's money to fill the gas tank.....

Paint the hubcaps and shiny bits black and you can blend in very well in Lancaster Co.

I've been fixing all the minor issues with it today. The biggest problem was the left rear passenger door wouldn't open. I had to basically destroy the inside door handle to get to the pull rods. Then I clamped on with a pair of vice grips, pulled real hard and smacked the door with a mallet a couple of times. It opened. I removed the door latch, cleaned it up, regreased it and reinstalled it with a new inside door handle. Now I just need a new lock actuator.

Also installed a new 4wd switch assembly, that was fairly easy. The only mechanical problem that I've found is that the differential gasket needs replaced. I have the parts, just haven't done it yet.

The kids have dubbed it "Subzilla".

I WAS going to order a Faxon pencil barrel for my wife's build since they are on sale for $140 - and then the exhaust on the truck cleared it's throat and laughed at me for thinking I could go a week without something else needing fixed.

The exhaust crisis was downgraded to "affordable", so...

I picked it up from Faxon directly for $140 (20% off sale) and was $148 shipped.

It's got some minor issues, but overall it's in great shape. Now I can blend in with all the government goons in their black SUV's.

You can drive around Los Angeles with Tommy Lee Jones and look for volcanoes!
