Pawn Shops - Anybody Haunt Them?
I have a bit of a hankering for an inexpensive new toy. To be honest, I'm thinking of picking up one of the old H&R/NEF 9-round 22lr revolvers. I'm not quite sure why, but I've wanted one since I was a kid. The people who have the old break-top 999/Sportsman models are holding on to them, but I believe the others are probably out there for sale at very reasonable prices.
That's when the light bulb lit up over my head: "Scour the Pawn Shops, dumbass!"
Of course, that was quickly followed by the realization that I don't know where any are, least of all any good ones. Maybe some board members can help me out with this dilema. But then again, there is a difference between simply finding one and finding a good one.
Any ideas, anyone? The help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.Last edited by Arcana71; November 19th, 2008 at 05:41 PM.

I do not believe Pawning guns in Pa is legal. That is why you really do not see any guns in pawn shops. I may be wrong though.

Re: Bucks County Pawn Shops - Anybody Haunt Them?
I've never trusted pawn shops for anything. Personally, I would put the word out to some of the local shops that I was looking for this item and hope they could do the leg work. Guns N Things in Penndel, Surplus City in Feasterville, RAF in Bristol, Classic Pistol in Southampton...good luck in the hunt...Mike45

In truth, I've been to every shop mentioned with the exception of Classic Pistol. To be perfectly honest, I was simply playing with the notion of a relatively inexpensive "project" .22 revolver. Just something with which I could tinker... a knockaround gun.
By the way... you're right: Guns n' Things, Surplus City and RAF (my boys) are all good people. Haven't been to Classic Pistol yet, as I said. But while we're at it... has anyone had any dealings with Phoenix Wholesale, also out of the Feasterville/Trevose area? Just curious.
Thanks.Last edited by Arcana71; November 19th, 2008 at 05:42 PM.
