I use them at the range and they have been one of the more cleaner rounds that I have used. Never had any issues with them at all.

    In my experience:

Super-light charges (some, but not me, report that it's too weak for heavily-sprung pistols like Gen4 compact Glocks etc.), wild variances from lot to lot in almost every way possible (including the actual look of the rounds and the projectiles)...

I had to send almost a full case back to Federal due to weak brass cracking upon firing.

According to the boxes, it runs about 50 fps or so slower than American Eagle 115.

The flip side? Over a few thousand rounds, I have never had any functional failures with it, even running it in my P7's (which have something like a 24 lb. recoil spring), and I will continue to buy it at Wal-Mart as long as the price remains low and I don't experience any FTE's, squibs, etc.

I prefer WWB, actually, but prefer American Eagle over both...

    HTH...

    Regards,

    Bones

ETA - I have never considered Federal Champion to be disproportionately dirty - About the same as most bargain range fodder, in my experience... Again though, it varies from lot to lot.

I've used it, never had any problems. I have a fairly large stockpile of WWB. I guess I've never noticed it was dirtier than any other ammo.

I got the same stuff from Walmart, one round was WAY overloaded, I don't know yet if it damaged my gun or not. I'll never get it again.
