I'll be there looking for 2 ar lower parts kits, an ar pistol buffer tube n cover, and a ar rifle stock for a big bore sniper.
In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

Anyone know if they're allowing ARs? Just heard that the Harrisburg gun show on Feb 2-10 is not allowing any "tactical" type weapons to "avoid the potential negative attention"

ARs will be at the show.(I'll have several as will other dealers I'm sure.)

The show at Harrisburg where ARs and other weapons of that type were eliminated from is NOT the bregular gun show promoted by MAAC. The show in question is the Outdoor and Sport Show. The MAAC show will be on as scheduled in March.

Yeah, this is the one run by the guy who organizes gun buy backs.

    Don't confuse the two.

Is the PGCA not run by/associated with a police officer/retired police officer who organizes/participates in gun buyback programs?

If not, I humbly apologize, but that is the reason I stopped patronizing said event.

    NICS failure on Saturday 1/19/2013

I and at least one other person who went to the show on Saturday left empty handed with their 2nd Amendment rights denied because the vendors were not able to get a ringtone into the NICS call center. In one case a potential customer and the vendor were both trying on two separate cell phones for over an hour just to get the call through to NICS.

I'm wondering how prevalent this issue was on Saturday.

Anyone else leave empty handed because the vendor could not reach NICS?

I couldn't pick up a rifle I ordered for my Son on Saturday but I was at the Shooter's Bench just a few miles away from that show. I stood in the store for hours waiting before I gave up.

Of course the NICS system is nationwide. And folks anywhere in the country could have had problems on Saturday like the two of us at the show did. There have been reported breakdowns of the NICS system this past Thanksgiving.

I'm just trying to get a feel for whether the problem is pervasive enough to warrant attention or is just simple system overload on a single day.
