    Default Bow hunter found dead in Westmoreland County woods

    Channel 11 (WPXI) TV news just reported a bow hunter has been found dead in the woods in Westmoreland County.

    No further details (including cause of death) available at this time.

    Hope it was no one from here.

    The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

    One of the biggest causes of death during hunting is heart attacks. A lot of people aren't in prime condition, then add exertion, excitement, etc..

    Lemme guess.....Hunter wasn't wearing a harness and swan dived out of his treestand! Most likely scenario as most bowhunters hunt from treestands.

    Ok, just read the updated story. No, he wasn't wearing a harness. However, the article says the 75 year old man fell 15 feet from his stand. To be honest, you really need to know your limitations. I hunt with a lot of guys that are a bit older than I am, but I don't know a single 75 year old that will get up in a 15 foot stand. Maybe it's just the hunters I know.
