This AK's Bolt Carrier- A Question
Zastava NPAP M70 Gen 2 (AKM)
2014 Manufacture
Less than 2000 rounds through it
.
Should this deformation on the back of the bolt carrier be something I should be very concerned about? Is there something I can do to prevent the deformation? Is it normal wear and tear? I inspect my firearms when cleaning and found what I call 'peening' here. Please see photo. Thanks for your help folks.

Re: This AK's Bolt Carrier- A Question
Fairly common, especially with some NPAP's. Some act like the sky is falling with the 'soft carriers', but it's not the end of the world. Gently file off the mushroom/burr. Then lightly file/polish the abrupt hump on your G2 trigger.

Re: This AK's Bolt Carrier- A Question
Too much deformation for the round count IMO. You using the factory trigger group?

Thank you very much for the information. This is the factory trigger group.

I'd replace your recoil spring with a newly made one.
