NJ resident-PA concealed carry nonresident
I'm an NJ resident, but i go to school in Scranton. When I turn 21 in April the first thing i would like to do, before I go to the bar, is apply for my concealed carry permit, just to have it. However, i know that you have to have a similar permit in your home state to be able to have the PA permit. As most of you know Nazi New Jersey does not issue too many carry permits, its discretionary.
Am i pretty much guaranteed not being able to get the concealed carry permit??
any help i appreciate, thanks

Re: NJ resident-PA concealed carry nonresident
You will not be eligible for a PA non-resident LTCF. I'd suggest you look into FL or UT non-resident licenses/permits.
BTW, the legality of transporting your weapon in/out of NJ for the purposes of carrying legally while in PA has been debated numerous times on here. Probably something you will want to look into.

You will Not get a NJ carry permit, don't even try.
Your best bet is either a Florida or Utah carry permit.
Florida
License good for 7yrs
cost-$117 renewal- $117
Required training (1 of the following)- NRA first steps course, hunter education class, etc.
http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/FOR...equest790.html
Utah
license good for 5yrs?
cost- $65.25 renewal- $10
Required training- Utah certified training course. check the forum for class availablity.

Hopefully more knowledgable folks will chime in.

Re: NJ resident-PA concealed carry nonresident
In PA we don't have a concealed carry permit, we have a license to carry firearms. Do me a favor and take a cab home after that trip to the bar, it guarantees that your night will end well.
