Alcohol and guns don't mix
"Minn. man points gun at father teaching girl how to ride her bike: Police
A Rosemount, Minn., man has been charged after allegedly pulling a gun on a neighbour who was teaching his daughter how to ride her bike on their street.
Gary Drake, 61, admitted to police he was on his porch on May 25 when he yelled tips on how the man should teach the girl to ride her bike. When the father responded, "I've got it," Drake yelled back, "If you don't like my advice, get off the street," police say in court documents.
Police said the man was walking away from the house when he looked over his shoulder and saw Drake pointing a Remington 870 shotgun at him.
Drake told officers he had been drinking, but when asked if that led to his poor decision-making, he said "absolutely not," the police statement says.
When placed under arrest, Drake allegedly said, "Maybe next time I should have shot him."
Drake has been charged with second-degree assault."

Alcohol and guns don't mix
So...
"Alcohol and guns don't mix" means..............what exactly?
People shouldn't be allowed to have guns in their homes if they drink?

Re: Alcohol and guns don't mix
Geez, the old man admitted that the alcohol had nothing to do with his actions (which definitely doesn't help his case). No matter where one goes in this country, somewhere there's an asshole. Oh well.

Re: Alcohol and guns don't mix
Do I really need to explain? Maybe this guy wouldn't have done something stupid if he wasn't drinking. Now he may lose his right to ever own firearms again.

Re: Alcohol and guns don't mix
I have never placed a 1911 into a bowl and poured whiskey over it, though I wager nothing dangerous will come of such shenanigans. It wasnt the alcohol or gun...just stupidity.

Re: Alcohol and guns don't mix
Say I go out to restaurant or over to a friends house while carrying and have a light beer or two with a meal. So that some how is a cardinal sin?
Maybe those with no self control with alcohol should not ever carry either?
The guy got shit faced and got stupid. Good luck stopping that, no matter how illegal it is.
