Default well I'm officially in the club

Stopped by tanners today to pick up a Springfield range officer, place was nuts, and then pics went down, lol
Anyway, first 1911, and I think I'm going to like it, very well made, just hope it shoots as well as my P226.
No pics as the camera is dead and I'm waiting on Santa, lol
I field stripped it, cleaned of the oil and lubed it up, I also sprayed cleaner/light lube tetra into the grip safety and trigger area to flush out whatever was lurking in there. Sure it will work it's way out in time lol
Anything else I should do before shooting it? I did put a dab of bright sight on the front blade, my old eyes just could not see it well enough without.

Couple of guys in there doing a transfer, anyone from here?

I was in Tanner's around 3:30, and yes, it WAS nuts. I only wanted some bullets for reloading and wanted to see how much factory ammo was selling for. It was so crazy in there all I could do was get what I wanted and left. Don't like crowds, especially gun shop crowds. Good luck with your new piece.

Welcome to the club, you're gonna love it! After Santa says its ok, go to the range and go all "Sgt York" on some paper plates lol
I'm faster than Doc Holliday (with Novocaine of course)

Enjoy - nothing like the fit, finish, smell, and feel of a new gun. The you get to shoot it!

If you were buying 38sp, then I think I spoke to you, was in there from just after 1 until almost 3.45

Hard to out shoot a P226 with a non custom 1911, though it's hard to out shoot a P226 with anything not from a custom shop. I'm more talking about overall performance: accuracy, balance, and feel. Those are what I like about the 1911 the most; it is simply a great all around gun, and .45 ACP can be Quasimoto accurate with custom/hand loaded ammo. Still, it's hard to beat a P226. I love them both. Enjoy.

If you don't reload, Stan Chen makes some .45 ACP, low recoil, target ammo that acts like each round has a guidance system to the X, and it works in every 1911 I own.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

You have taken the first step on a long 1911 journey. Do not put it in a safe. They multiply in the dark. Welcome to the 1911 side!!!!! Good luck with your new pistol.

Save your money,,,,, this is only your first.
    George,
So many guns, so little money.

Lol, I read up a lot before the purchase, actually intended on getting a real cheapy but then picked up the Taurus and the range officer in Tanners.
It took maybe 3 seconds to make my mind up.
Though I am learning faster than I wanted to, I "twiddled" with the screw on the trigger blade(Hey it's there, it's meant to be turned right!"
So now I'm suddenly learning about overtravel and everything it will do from not going bang to full auto, lol

I have a 1911 Taurus from there custom shop and it shoots great. Nothing feels as good as a nice 1911 in the hand. And WELCOME to the 1911 side.

Now there is no need to call 911 just call 1911 instead.
