    Some shit, different day.

If you want to take advice on weapon design from a newspaper reporter, I guess that article is worth reading.

Yes, Virginia, guns overheat. And there is a Santa Claus.

I know, this didn't actually happen. obviously it was made up by some grunt to lazy to clean his M4.

who are these infantrymen, so bold as to criticize the Colt M4? heresy!

    hmmm..

I wonder why it got so hot? is there any part of the design we could address, to delay the weapon getting hot?

nah, why bother, after all, it's not my ass on the line...

    re-insert head in hindquarters.

    forget i mentioned it.

btw, i never knew shooting a weapon on full auto could make it hot! thanks for telling me, ungawa.

    LOL

They said the weapons overheated, not that they failed due to lack of cleaning. Yes, there is a part of the design you could address to delay the weapon from getting hot. You could use a piston system. Like the M249. Which you are already complaining about.

whoa. i didn't spill the kool aid. i just posted a link to an article where someone else is saying the kool aid got spilled. what are you trying to get me banned off this board?

hey, thanks for telling me the 249 works on a piston! i didn't notice that, when i was assembling it in 90 seconds.

the 249 issue IS a separate topic. funny, though, that the 240's seem to just run, and run, and run unless you twist the links or drag debris into the feed tray. but hey, that's just a rumor i heard on the internet.

hey ungawa, i have a 249 joke for you:

how do you stop a runaway gun on a 249?

    insert a magazine! hahaha!

don't worry, 249's don't actually runaway. they can't fire that many times without a jam.
