    Default Taylor's & Company 9mm Lever Gun

Taylor's & Co has announced a new 1873 lever action rifle in 9mm. 10-shot, 18" threaded barrel, with tuned action. $2k makes for a spicy meatball...

yep im in on that... my 9mm marlin 1894 conversion has run into problems... but my 45acp marlin 1894 conversion still runs like a champ.

I can tell from the pictures that they got it right by looking at the loading gate - that was where mine was hanging up and causing double feeds.
if you look close you can see that their gate is completely 'cut out'/ sized for 9mm and there is a built lip to prevent the 9mm cartridge from backing out the gate when cycling the loop.

I hope RPP makes some cool aftermarket parts for this one...

I didn't think RPP made any '73 parts. Maybe they will if the TC73 takes off. Still, $2k for this takes it off the table for me. Half that, probably.

    Well, it's advertised as "100% Made in America" so . . .

That's prolly why the price is about 50% more than the Italian clones. From a design standpoint, the '73 should readily lend itself to feeding rimless cartridges like the 9mm due mostly to the design of the brass cartridge lifter. The only caveat will be the OAL of the cartridges it can handle; it will be a tight range of max and min OALs in order to feed. The 1892 would be a bit tougher to engineer/modify for the 9mm vs. the '73, no question.

I'll wait for real reviews, not new product showcase puff pieces, see what the store prices are, and maybe sell a gun or two to finance one of these.
