Default 18"or so Barrel for a Mos. 935?

Been searching and can't find anything, anyone know if they make an 18" or so barrel for the Mossberg 935?

Not that I know of.

But they do make a 24" smooth bore with rifle sights that takes 835/935 choke tubes.

With that barrel you could add the magazine extension bringing the total number of rounds to 9.

Sure... they make 18" barrels...

Stanley is the name of the company that makes them...

Yea, been thinking of just making my own. Would prefer to just buy one though lol. It would be hard for me to make the barrel to accept a full choke. Also another great question lol, any idea if you can get a pistol grip for a 935, also haven't been able to find one lol.

The 935's are the 3.5" chambered scatterguns right??

If so, you may have a hard time finding anything resembling defensive/tacticool accessories for it.. was more for turkey, goose and duck hunters..

Late thoughts... 3.5" mags with a pistol grip?? d00d? you got arms and wrists like Hulk Hogan?

The best Mossberg is showing is a 24"fully rifled slug barrel with sights or cantilever scope base.

well pretty much I'm cheap, as to the pistol grip, It shoots from the hip fine and I use basically a ghost pistol grip with the way I hold it to do it, so should be good, it's not that bad.

A few things to think about before you take the Stanley to it.

I'm not sure on the new 935, but I know that the 500 and 835 guns have "floating" ribs. The barrel rib is connected at the chamber end and at the muzzle. All of the other rib posts in between are floating dovetails. You cut the barrel down, the rib is almost certain to fall off in a short period of time.

Cutting the barrel off will give you the most open choke ever invented in a 12 gauge production gun. The 935 is over bored from the chamber to the choke. That over-bore gives better patterns as the shot reaches the choke restriction area of the barrel. The end result might be a barrel that slings lead all over the place, and isn't good past 20 yards.

Cutting the barrel down on a gas operated shotgun can sometimes hurt the reliability of the gun. Gas pressure is forced down from the barrel into the piston system of the gun. By cutting off the barrel, you allow the gas to vent from the barrel quicker...sometimes not giving the piston enough...causing the gun to "short stroke". On Remington guns we "open" the gas ports to allow more gas into the drive system.

Bottom line - You might invent a cool HD gun. Or you might create a POS that you wont be able to trade or sell.

As I said, you can buy a 24" barrel with rifle sights and it is a smooth bore, NOT rifled. They make both. I would go that route.

Buckmark I can't find the smoothbore 24" barrel on the mossberg website for the 935 where did you see it? They are only showing fully rifled with sights or cantilever scope base. They are showing it in camo but if he has a blued gun ?
