Default 8ga double barrel muzzleloader

Anyone have any idea what this is? I'm pretty sure its British. Maybe a Hollis & Sheath.

Now that'd be fun to shoot. How much does it weigh?
Any markings? Not that I'll know what they mean but someone else might.

I dont recall Hollis & Sheath making 8ga's, but its possible they did.

H&S usually put their name on one of the locks, and the barrels sometimes had "London Twist" on them.

Barrels were Damascus twist.

The barrel says 'Twist Barrel' on it.

Good lord! Talk about a cannon...

Plan on shooting it? I'm sure you know the rules with that (get it checked by a competent gunsmith, no modern cartridges in a twist barrel, ect...)

It's a friends. I personally wouldn't shoot it. He wants to have it checked out, but who knows. He just has me running the research.

H&S made barrels for other gun manufacturers. My dad's H&S was made in the 1840's to 1850's, it had London Twist on it.. I'm gonna guess it was another make due to the lack of that exact wording.

Muzzleloader. Still needs to be checked, though.

It looks very much like an 1851 J.Manton that I have. Look on the straps that are attached to the buttstock and see if there is a name stamped on it,it might be very faint.
IF it is british look under the barrels when you take them off to see the proof marks. If it has marks go to the doublegunshop.com forums and post the details there and someone should be able to help.
