Default Mossburg 930SPX...

So after long wait - kept buying up other stuff(and I thank you to guys at J&E for their patients!) - I finally picked up mossburg 930spx to be a my effective CQ zombi weapon! I dissassembled it, cleaned it, and can't wait to go shoot it.

My only dislike(if u can call it that), is that because of extended mag tube, there is no place to attach sling on front of weapon, and while I do like the SPX's front FO sight, red tube just don't gather enough light to be usefull.
So I'm wondring what can I do about front sling attachment, and can front red FO be replaced with lime green tube?

Congrats on your new purchase.

They do make a front sling attachment that you can mount on the mag tube - look around.

I see no reason that you could not swap out the FO site tube either - i'm sure someone makes that too.

How about a single point sling between the buttstock and the reciever.......?

Nice shotgun by the way.

My gunshop have crapload of them.
I got 1 box as compromentaly, but I think I'm gonna buy as much as I can when i go there again.

So I took it out to shoot it today.
I fed many different load i had - from 2 3/4" light game load to elcheapo Walmart #8, to buckshots to 3" Slug.
About 100rds of variety ammo(my shoulder couldn't handle it much after 100rds!), and all ran fine.

I was sort of worried, because when manually cycle them, they don't feed well. Extractor dont grab them all the time, and so on, but when shot, everything ran fine. And it was raining, snowing and everything in between, and still ran fine.
Its sight needs to be adjusted bit(shooting somewhat low at 25'. If I aim Mr. Badguy's chest, i'd prolly blow his pecker off. But then thats not necessary a bad thing?).

No. I have no plan to add any optic to it. I bought it as strictly a QCB weapon. And donno what rest of ya guys think, but these Italian made LPA ghost ring are exceptional for any shotgun task up to 25yds IMO.
These LPA sights alone are $200+(I thought about getting one for my old Mossy 500), and I bought the gun NIB for $570, I must say that while its no Benelli, these are hell of bargen!

I think what I'm going to do is that I'm gonna get same type front sling mount as XD45 did on his. Thought about 1 point sling as I do with my AR's, but I want to be able to carry some shells on sling.

I did notice few things with the weapon that I feel is short coming, other then I already mentioned.
Charging handle on the weapon i think is too small. Someone have got to make enlarged bolt handle right? Do anyone know where/who makes them?

Another thing I noticed, which I feel is rather big issue is that how do I keep this weapon loaded with full mag, but leave the chamber empty(like I can with Mossy 500)?
i suck at explaining it, but basicaly, I don't think it can...

hold that button down on the right side while you are inserting shells with an empty chamber. If it's anything like the M2 (looks like it) then that should work and you can keep it loaded w/o one chambered.
