Damn! I guess that means you'll have to buy her her own shotgun.

The other thing I like about the 20 gauge is the fact that you can get back on target faster in case of a miss or there is more than one zombie that needs to be taken down. The type of dwelling and what it's constructed of may make you think about what size load or gauge is best. One thing to remember about the short shotties is they make one hell of a bang inside a house. I shot my 20 gauge inside a buildings basement once on a rat. The rat ended up looking like he was very dead and after I pulled the trigger I realized I had forgotten to do something. Ear Plugs. I can't imagine the racket they make if your in a hallway or stairwell.

Popeye, the sound is a consideration. However, since 12 or 20 (11500 to 12000 cup) gauge is much lower pressure then say a .40 cal pistol (35,000 cup) the resulting noise will be less. I would much rather shoot a shotgun without hearing protection then a pistol. When the zombies come calling... we will not always have time for ear plugs.

Oh you could very well be right on. I never shot a 40 cal inside a building without ear plugs but I can say for sure that a 20 Ga. Mossy Crusier is one loud Mo Fo for sure in and inclosed area. True I think if the zombies come ear protection will be the last of my worries. The darn thing put a smile on my face everytime I shoot it though.

I'll bet if she needed to pick it up and use it to save her life, she wouldn't care if it kicked or not. That won't be going through her mind if the situation arises.

I don't think she'd be to accurate with it though if she's afraid of it.

Sauer - true. She would use it if she had too.

Popeye she is actually very accurate with the Mossberg. She just doesn't "enjoy" shooting it like I do.
