Default Benelli Laws?

I recently acquired a Benelli M2 tactical and have a question. I was speaking with a salesman at a gun store and we started talking about shotguns. He had a couple Benelli M4's with pistol grip stocks on the shelf and I told him about my M2 purchase. My M2 has an extended magazine tube on it to hold 7+1. I told him this and then said I was thinking of getting a pistol grip stock for it. He told me that I couldn't. said it would be illegal to have both and that I could only have either an extended mag OR a pistol grip stock, but not both, and that only Military/Law Enforcement could have both on. I was confused. Is this true? Is it like that with all semi auto shotguns or just the "tatcial" ones like the M4 and M2? And if so, could someone direct me toward the law/laws that confirm this? I've tried searching, but came up with nothing.

Yeah, it was in PA. Maybe he meant that he couldn't sell them set up that way, but that doesn't make sense either.

he or the store might have such a policy, but it is not a law.

That was the law when the assault weapon ban was in effect. Not now.
But even when the assault weapon ban was in effect, you could have it in that configuration if it was a Pre-Ban gun.

Is the Benelli still imported? If so it might be a 922r violation since a semi auto shotgun with a magazine larger than 5 rounds can't be imported with a pistol grip.

If the Benelli was made here he's passing along bad information
