Default Remington 1100 or 11-87?

I'm looking for a new shotgun and looking at the 1100 and the 11-87. I already have a Browning Gold Hunter 12g 28" so what are the benefits of the 1100 over the 11-87?

From what I understand, the 11-87 is an upgrade over the 1100.

11-87 will cycle just about anything from a light 2 3/4" field load to 3" mags. An 1100 will not, they are either or type deals. and yes, what BerksCountyDave said

I just bought a Rem. 11-87 sporting clays model used. It is a sweet gun IMO.
Shoots my really whimpy 7\8 oz. loads for skeet with no problem.

They both break down for cleaning about the same. This is my first gas operated autoloader. Boy they do get dirty.

Having had both and liking both, I like the 11-87 just a touch better in 12 ga. because it will cycle everything. In 20 and 28 I like the 1100.

I will probably use the gun mostly for Trap and I'd like to try sporting clays. I like the 1100 Competition but I'd like to find a few 11-87 's to look at.
