...for free!!! Co-worker didn't want it anymore so he asked how to get rid of it safely. I said "give it to me, I'll take care of it!"
Does anybody know about these? All that I can tell is that they were sold as New Haven by Mossberg and this one is the same thing as the Mossberg 600AT. It has an adjustable choke tube on it. It needs a little bit of cleaning and ridding of surface rust, but it's in fine shape other than that! And it was FREE!! Last edited by unclesam099; April 20th, 2007 at 09:42 PM. |

A few things to keep an eye on as far as Mossy's go...
#1 inside the receiver, with the action open, you will see a large screw head that holds the ejector into the receiver. This screw is well known to shoot loose over time. Put a dab of red Loc-tite on this screw and then reinstall it. #2 keep an eye on the safety button. They will also shoot loose and the detent ball and spring will fly into outer space. Every now and then check the safety button screw. Perhaps swap it out sometime for a metal button. Add Loc-tite to the screw. #3 when installing the barrel, make sure the ejector goes into the proper slot in the barrel BEFORE you begin to crank the barrel on tight. the ejector will bind and bend. Simply look inside the ejection port to see that the barrel is in the correct position. The only other real weakness of the Mossy is the plastic trigger housing assy with one retaining pin. Some wear out quickly...some last forever. Nothing you can do to prevent breakage. Great news is that parts are everywhere!

Buckmark, thank you very much for the tips!! #s 1 and 3 are something that I noticed when I was reassembling everything. It took me awhile to do it, but I'm handy enough to figure it out without a manual... Double checked it tho per Mossberg's site and some online manuals.
I'm going to have to research the adjustable choke a little bit too. |
